Iconic & Successful Year for the Fiesta

For the third consecutive year at this month’s Auto Express New Car Awards the Ford Fiesta was named as Britain’s Best Supermini by the top selling weekly motoring magazine.

Within four months of the New Fiesta’s launch in October 2008 it fast became the best-selling car in the UK, its had continued popularity with car buyers as more recently in the first half of this year 52,327 Fiesta’s were sold making it the top selling car in the UK once again. 

In addition to this the Fiesta’s reign at the top has included various awards, in 2009 it was Auto Express’s Car of the Year & Best Supermini and for the second consecutive year the car magazine awarded the Fiesta Best Supermini 2011.  This recent recognition is particularly significant according to Marketing Director, Anthony Ireson, Ford of Britain, ‘This is an important award for Fiesta as it endorses this latest generation for customers looking for great style and driving dynamic…’

Graham Hope, Acting Director Auto Express also commented on Fiesta’s recent award success saying, ‘Once again, the Fiesta has demonstrated its superiority…securing a remarkable third consecutive victory in this closely fought category.’  It is no surprise then that Ford decided to launch the new special edition Ford Fiesta ‘Centura’ to celebrate 100 years of Ford.  

The exciting new special edition Fiesta ‘Centura’ comes in the models most sought after colour, panther black and pays tribute to the first Ford vehicle to be manufactured in the UK, the Model T in 1911 and there will be just 1,000 available from ?13,395.  

The ‘Centura’ boasts a comprehensive list of extras valued at ?600 including LED daylight running lights, reverse parking sensors and a parking camera mounted in the rear view window and more!  Ford are expecting strong demand for this limited addition car Anthony Ireson, Marketing Director, Ford of Britain said, ‘with a unique specification and affordable price…we anticipate strong demand – who know’s it might become a collector’s item one day!’
