About Us

Lindsay Ford is the largest Ford dealer in Northern Ireland and one of the largest in the UK.

Annually, we sell over 7,500 new and used vehicles.  With sales and service at 8 locations and 2 Accident facilities, Lindsay Ford is in the Top 100 companies in Northern Ireland.

History

  • 1963 Lindsay Cars established as a ford dealer selling and repairing motor vehicles at the Market place site in Lisburn.
  • 1986 expanded to Coleraine
  • 1993 expanded to Ballymena
  • 1999 acquisition of Knockdene Garages which included locations in Belfast and Bangor
  • 2000 acquisition of J E Coulter’s Ford Franchise
  • 2002 acquisition of Irish Road Motors, Craigavon site

This final acquisition took the company to 8 locations.

  • 2008 David & Nick Lindsay retired from the company which is now part of Ford Retail.

In addition to sales, the company also has a very successful rental business, centralised parts distribution operation and 2 Mazda franchises.  The Mazda business was launched in Jan 2004 and Lindsay Mazda is now the largest Mazda dealer in Northern Ireland in this short 5 year period.
